Academic integrity is something that I believe is incredibly important to all fields, and I am particularly appreciative of its value having completed an Honours thesis in 2014. It not only shows the integrity of the individual, but it protects the sanctity of an academic community in a dutiful manner. Academic integrity allows for the free exchange of ideas in a way that ensures all members of all communities and their work are respected.
Academic integrity is important for a future health professional like myself. It shows my ability to participate in a community in a fair and honest manner, respecting others, and collaborating appropriately and effectively. It also illustrates my understanding of my chosen industry, and the requirements to act as a trustworthy and reliable professional.
By completeing Griffith University's AI Student Tutorial I have come to understand how academic integrity is not only important for me as an individual and my community, but also for the reputation of the academic institution that I attend. In order to demonstrate the upstanding health professional that I one day will be, it is important to first demonstrate the upstanding student that I am today.
